For the fifth anniversary of New York City Ballet’s Choreographic Institute an excerpt of Flit of Fury – the Monarch for two pianos, was selected by Peter Martins to be choreographed to by ten international choreographers, including Christopher Wheeldon, and NYCB principal dancers Albert Evans and Benjamin Millepied. In June 2007, pianists Steven Beck and Stephen Gosling gave Flit of Fury – the Monarch its concert premiere at the National Arts Club in New York. Program included Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Suite No. 2 for 2 pianos, Op. 17. played by Steven Beck and Eliran Avni. And in June 2008, Flit of Fury – the Monarch had its world premiere as a ballet with New York City Ballet. Aaron Severini was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts and began studying the piano and composing at age eight. Mr. Severini has studied at Mannes College. He is currently based in New York City.
