Mr. Severini danced with the New York City Ballet from 2000-2009. Featured roles include Balanchine’s THE NUTCRACKER (Soldier, Candy Cane & Chinese Tea), LA SONNAMBULA (Pastorale Dance), UNION JACK; Jerome Robbins’ THE FOUR SEASONS (Winter); Peter Martins’ FEARFUL SYMMETRIES, SLEEPING BEAUTY (Jesters), and SWAN LAKE (Neapolitan). Originated corps roles include Susan Stroman’s DOUBLE FEATURE; Peter Martins’ BACH CONCERTO V, CHICHESTER PSALMS, ROMEO AND JULIET; Melissa Barak’s TELEMANN OVERTURE SUITE IN E MINOR; and Richard Tanner’s SOIRÉE. Corps roles include George Balanchine’s DONIZETTI VARIATIONS, JEWELS (Rubies), A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, SLAUGHTER ON TENTH AVENUE (Cop), SQUARE DANCE, STARS AND STRIPES, SYMPHONY IN C, VIENNA WALTZES, WESTERN SYMPHONY; Jerome Robbins’ GLASS PIECES, PIANO PIECES, WEST SIDE STORY SUITE; Peter Martins’ RELIQUARY; and Christopher Wheeldon’s CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS starring John Lithgow. Mr. Severini has performed live on ABC, PBS’s Live From Lincoln Center 1999 (Peter Martins’ Swan Lake), Live From Lincoln Center 2005 (Balanchine Centennial Celebration), and Live From Lincoln Center 2009 (Peter Martins’ Romeo & Juliet).


Mr. Severini has choreographed for the New York Choreographic Institute, and the School of American Ballet Choreographic Workshop. Teaching experience includes NYSSSA, the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet Summer Program, Ballet Academy East, Adirondack Repertory Dance Theatre, Moving People Dance Center, and Dance Arts Los Alamos. In 1998, he compiled and documented Stanley Williams’ barre and center floor technique combinations for the recording A. Katarina Batist in memory of Stanley Williams.
